Introduction

The Margetts Opes Income Fund and Margetts Opes Growth Fund are internationally invested total return Fund-of-Funds unit trusts.

Margetts have been in the investment business since 1843 and were pioneers of Fund-of-Funds unit trusts, launching their first such fund in 1992. Assets under management currently exceed £600m (April 2010).

In 2003 Opes Fund Manager, Wayne Buttery, joined Margetts to run total return funds that have a unique client focussed process. This is due to Wayne’s background as an Independent Financial Adviser, holding the Certified Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society qualifications as well as the relevant investment qualifications. Wayne’s role as a financial planner running his own practice for over 16 years brought him into daily contact with clients and their expectations. Probably more than any other fund manager, Wayne knows what clients expect of their IFA and their fund manager and the Margetts Opes Funds are designed to fulfil clients needs and expectations.
